For the brilliance of an amazing integrated, multi-room and home theater experience, look no further than the 2008 Sony ES or Elevated Standard products.
ES was born out of the necessity to support the high-performance needs of A/V Enthusiasts and Early Adopters. Starting in 1982, the PCM-701ES was the first ES branded product that added to the extensive Sony A/V heritage.
As the timeline illustrates below, the ES brand evolved over time. They began as high-end audio components but quickly became a symbol of reference for audio and video products from Sony. ES was responsible for a number of industry firsts. The technologies ranged from outboard D/A converters to digital preamps and digital decoding processors. ES also included the platform that launched formats like DVD and SA-CD, including unique multi-room/multi-source systems and the exclusive xross media bar™ inspired GUI. Over the past 25 years, innovation has been continuous and as A/V enthusiasts and early adopters continue to transition, Sony ES will continue to support their needs.
